As an initiative from the Women's Cultural and Social society to serve pupils with special needs and by the year 1997 Al-Bustan nursery for the deaf and hearing-impaired has been established.

It is a pioneering idea not only in Kuwait but in all the Arab Gulf> states as well. The nursery is equipped with the means of modern technology to be used in the educational process, sophisticated audio devices (Suvag) to amplify the sound frequencies and educational purposeful aids and games.
